Case1 : Desulphurizing water (height:4m)
Application problems
The client require reliable level measurement to accurately measure the terminal storage tank containing highly corrosive liquids. The tank filling process involves the agitation of highly corrosive liquids which causes the generation of a substantial amount of foam and vapor.
Solutions
CONNETECH recommended low frequency pulse radar level sensor CPR6600 for the following reasons:
  • The horn is PVDF coated and it’s corrosion resistant.
  • Low frequency microwave can penetrate the foam and vapor due to long wave length so the vapor and foam will not have obvious influence on measuring result. The performance is much better than high frequency radar in such harsh environment.

Case2 : Cylindrical reaction kettle (height:2.5m)
Application problems
The client requires reliable level measurement for the alkali in reaction kettle. The reaction kettle is cylindrical with round roof and bottom. The material is metal so it reflect the microwave that reflected by media surface. The radar may trace the reflected wave from metal roof thus measuring result is inaccurate. The agitator in the reaction kettle may also cause interference.
Solutions
CONNETECH recommended low frequency pulse radar level sensor CPR6100 with 50 rod antenna for the following reasons:
  • Small measuring range require small size antenna.
  • The swiveling agitator cause serious interference during processing. We enlarge the emitting signal to deduce the interference.
  • Set suitable high and low dead zone to avoid the measurement of round bottom. Setup false echo to cover the echo from the agitator.

Case3 : Phosphonic acid solution  (height:10m)
Application problems
The client requires reliable level measurement for the phosphonic acid solution. It’s with strong corrosivity and has vapor condensation. It may cause serious interference for radar measurement.
